Guide to using Mobile Tech Central

Application Overview

Mobile Tech Central is a comprehensive service ticket management system designed for automotive mobile technicians. It helps you track jobs from creation through completion, manage technician assignments, and generate detailed reports.

Dashboard

Main Features:

  • Statistics Overview: View total tickets, pending, enroute, in progress, on hold, and completed jobs at a glance
  • Jobs in Progress: Highlighted blue section showing active jobs with technician and location
  • Enroute Jobs: Purple section displaying technicians on their way to job sites
  • Search & Filters: Search by VIN, vehicle, or customer; filter by technician, shop, or status
  • Status Tabs: Quickly filter jobs by All, Pending, Enroute, In Progress, On Hold, or Completed

Ticket Colors:

Pending jobs (awaiting action)
On Hold jobs (waiting for parts/approval)
Update Required (red banner - needs attention)
Creating & Managing Tickets

Creating a New Ticket:

  1. Click "New Ticket" button in the dashboard header
  2. Enter vehicle information (VIN, Year, Make, Model) - VIN decoder available
  3. Assign technician and enter customer details
  4. Set scheduled date/time if applicable
  5. Select services requested (Diagnostics, Programming, ADAS, etc.)
  6. Add initial notes or photos if needed
  7. Click "Create Ticket" to save

Ticket Statuses:

Pending
Job created, awaiting action or assignment
Enroute
Technician traveling to job location
In Progress
Active work being performed on vehicle
On Hold
Work paused (awaiting parts, approval, or customer response)
Completed
Job finished and closed
Cancelled
Job cancelled (customer request, duplicate, etc.)

Ticket Details Page:

  • Status Updates: Change job status with one click
  • Vehicle & Customer Info: Edit all details including VIN, vehicle specs, customer contact
  • Services & ADAS: Modify requested services and mark calibrated ADAS systems
  • DTC Codes: Record diagnostic trouble codes and related comments
  • Technician Notes: Add timestamped notes throughout the job
  • Photo Documentation: Upload photos with captions
  • Time Tracking: Automatic tracking of time to start and work duration
  • Certificate Generation: Create printable/downloadable calibration certificates

View all active jobs grouped by assigned technician

In Progress

Quick view of all jobs currently being worked on

Scheduled Jobs

Calendar view of upcoming scheduled appointments

Reports

Completion reports for today or this week with job counts

Management Report

Analytics including visits per shop and time analysis

Pending Before Noon

Shows pending jobs created before noon that weren't completed same day

Cancelled Jobs

Archive of cancelled tickets with delete capability

Volume Alerts

The dashboard displays automatic alerts at the top based on pending job volume:

HIGH VOLUME - PENDING JOBS

Appears when more than 6 jobs are pending

LOW PENDING VOLUME

Appears when fewer than 3 jobs are pending

Visual Indicators

Technician Assignment Alerts:

Awaiting Technician AssignmentOrange highlight indicates unassigned tickets

Update Required Flag:

Tickets marked with "Update Required" display a red banner at the top and a warning icon. Use the dropdown menu on any ticket card to toggle this flag.

Technician Duty Status

Located at the bottom of the Dashboard, this section allows you to manage technician availability:

  • Toggle Duty Status: Mark technicians as On Duty or Off Duty
  • Assigned Shops: Shows which shops each technician is currently assigned to for pending and in-progress jobs
  • Quick Overview: See at a glance who's working and where they're located
Settings & Google Sheets Integration

Google Sheets Integration:

  1. Navigate to Settings from the dashboard header
  2. Create a new Google Sheet or use existing one
  3. Copy the Spreadsheet ID from the URL
  4. Paste the ID into the settings field
  5. Enable "Auto-sync on ticket updates" if desired
  6. Use "Sync Now" to manually push all tickets to Sheets
  7. Use "Import from Sheets" to pull data back into the app

Auto-Sync Feature:

When enabled, any changes made to tickets will automatically sync to your Google Sheet, keeping both systems in perfect sync.

Tips & Best Practices
  • Use the VIN decoder to automatically populate vehicle details
  • Add technician notes regularly to track progress and issues
  • Upload photos for documentation and quality assurance
  • Mark "Update Required" on tickets that need immediate attention
  • Use filters and search to quickly find specific jobs
  • Change status from Pending → Enroute → In Progress → Completed for accurate tracking
  • Generate certificates for ADAS calibrations before completing jobs
  • Review Management Reports regularly to identify busy shops and optimize scheduling
